About Me

Kyle Embry’s lab focuses on developing intelligent wearable devices designed to measure, advance, and protect human mobility. His applications center on wearable robotics such as powered prostheses, exoskeletons, and fall protection technologies. His prior work includes the design of control systems to enable agile powered prosthetic legs, the development of more accurate fall detection algorithms using condition-specific machine-learned models, and functional outcome testing of exoskeletons and powered prostheses.

In addition to his work at Shirley Ryan 吃瓜天堂91, Dr. Embry is a Research Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
