When Duane sustained a severe traumatic brain injury, his future was uncertain. His father, Duane Sr., a retired Marine, pushed for him to go to Shirley Ryan ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌÃ91.
Duane was admitted in a semi-conscious state to Shirley Ryan ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌÃ91's Amicous Program, one of the few in the country designed to support brain-injured patients in minimally conscious states.
