This week the Shirley Ryan ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌÃ91 celebrated our nurses for providing exceptional care to patients day in and day out. In particular, we¡¯d like to recognize award winners and nominees for our Nancy B. Holt Legacy of Nursing, Helping Hands and Remarkable Image of Caring awards:
Body
The Nancy B. Holt Legacy of Nursing Award recognizes a nurse or advanced practice nurse who best exemplifies rehabilitation nursing practice. Congratulations to Amanda June from the 25th floor Innovation Center for winning this award.
Amanda came to our Brain Injury Unit as a new graduate nurse in July 2014. She has laddered (level II), earned her certification and served as a preceptor for new staff members and for students. She most recently applied for and was chosen as a clinical nurse coordinator. She was one of the reasons that the 25th floor transitioned so seamlessly into their new environment.
Amanda's patient care is exceptional. She is creative, an excellent communicator, patient and always willing to step into a difficult situation to assist her team.

"Her smile, energy and sense of humor (very necessary on the brain injury unit) are ever present when she is working. We are proud to claim her as a member of our team and she is very deserving of this award," said Anne Bines, Nurse Manager.

Brittany joined our organization in September 2015. She started as a full-time PCT on the night shift, but often expressed interest to work during the day shift.
