Exercise for Osteoporosis: Moving the Mindset

Osteoporosis is the most common bone disease, affecting one in three women and one in five men over the age of 50 worldwide. With the rapid ageing of the population worldwide and the changes in lifestyle habits, the incidence of osteoporosis and related fractures has significantly increased and will continue to increase in the future. This webinar will provide the background to the field of exercise and bone health, the prevailing beliefs and assumptions of the application of exercise as therapy for osteoporosis and the evidence behind the first effective exercise program for the prevention of minimal trauma fracture.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Define the basic principles of osteogenic loading for bone
- Describe the application of those principles to reduce minimal trauma fracture in people living with osteoporosis
